Village Bell

A poetic miniature about an Istrian village and a disappearing lifestyle.

Sights and sounds of a small Istrian village where people still live in a traditional way, mostly as farmers. The church bell still sets the daily rhythm of life there. The film is a long series of alternating moves and silence, work and rest, mornings and evenings.

The film was made as part of the documentary workshop at the Grožnjan Imaginary Academy.
