Jagoda Kaloper was born in Zagreb in 1947. She obtained her degree from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in 1970. In the same year she became a member of the Croatian Association of Artists. As a freelance artist, she had a number of individual and group exhibitions. She also worked as a graphic artist and art director for magazines, books and catalogues. She has also created complete visual identities in industry and culture, worked in exhibition design, created ceramic jewelry, and designed sets and costumes for films.
Since 1965, this versatile visual artist and filmmaker appeared in some twenty films (mostly in lead roles) of acclaimed directors such as Dušan Makavejev, Krsto Papić, Rajko Grlić, Bogdan Žižić, , Tomislav Radić, Srđan Karanović and Goran Rušinović. For her film roles she received the City of Zagreb Award (Kula Lotršćak), Silver and Golden Arenas at Pula Film Festival and Empress Theodora Award at Niš Film Meeting.
