Factum's film Our Children has been named a Croatian Top of the Docs film in 2024.
The sixth Dokumetar Award was held at Dokukino KIC in Zagreb, where the Dokumentarni.net portal announces the best Croatian documentary films of the past year.
The special award “Top of the Docs” for the best Croatian documentary film of 2024 was awarded by the editor-in-chief of the Dokumentarni.net portal, Hrvoje Krstičević, with the following motivation:
“Our Children by Silvester Kolbas masterfully combines a decades-long, painful archive that was not easy to send to the public, with the author’s thoughts from the present perspective on the dynamic and often imperfect everyday life of his own family. This is a film about missed opportunities, modalities of (im)communication, generational craters, patterns of behavior that are difficult to suppress. Alienation. And all the nuances of parenthood that you can imagine…”
The main award, for the best Croatian film of 2024, was awarded by the editorial jury (Silvija Bumbak, Lucija Furač, Janko Heidl, Hrvoje Krstičević, Iva Rosandić and Sara Simić) to the film Motel by Filip Mojzeš with the following motivation: “…for its dedication to the important and disappearing heritage of modernist architecture”
