The Croatian Film Days jury reached their decision on the winners of the 25th anniversary edition of the festival. The grand jury consisting of Hana Jušić, Silvestar Mileta and Luna Zimić Mijović decided to award the Grand Prix to the film Dum Spiro Spero by Pero Kvesić (produced by Factum).

The jury’s explanation goes: “The main festival award goes to Pero Kvesić’s Dum Spiro Spero for making a successful and touching connection between literature and film in a storyline and scenes baring the author and his melancholy, humorous, self-destructive and creative thoughts, showing how the nearness of death breaches all the taboos. Writing prowess and cinematic sense make this a wholesome revelation of one’s intimate history and present both through narration and complementary visual symbolism.”

At the 25th Croatian Film Days, Oktavijan Awards were presented at the discretion of the Croatian Film Critics Association (for total annual production between two festival editions). Oktavijan for best documentary film went to the film A Two-Way Mirror by Katarina Zrinka Matijević.
