''The Blockade'' in DOK Leipzig Program!

Igor Bezinović's documentary film on the 2009 Blockade of the Zagreb Faculty of Philosophy will have three screenings in early November and will compete for Leipziger Ring Award which given to the best film dealing with the subject of democracy.

Igor Bezinović's documentary film The Blockade, produced by Factum and Restart, has been selected for the program of the 55th International Documentary and Animated Film Festival DOK Leipzig, taking place from 29 October to 4 November 2012.

The Blockade
has been selected for the international documentary film program and is competing for Leipziger Ring Award for the best film dealing with the subject of democracy. The award is given by Friedliche Revolution Foundation. Bezinović's depiction of the most massive, longest and politically most relevant student strike in Croatia and beyond screens on 1 November at 10 a.m. (in Passage Kinos Universum), 2 November at 8 p.m. (in Passage Kinos Filmeck) and 3 November at 10.30 p.m. (in Cinémathèque Leipzig – NATO).

DOK Leipzig was established in 1995 as the first independent documentary film festival in East Germany. This year it will present more than 80 documentary films and more than 100 short animated films. This year's festival program features various films that provide an exciting glimpse into the world in transition. In a way, our festival has become a barometer of the relevant social, political and cultural changes, said Claas Danielsen, Director of DOK Leipzig, a festival that sees turnouts of up to 30,000 people per year.
