The Grand Golden Arena for Best Festival Film was presented to the film Peacemaker, directed by Ivan Ramljak, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Drago Hedl and Hrvoje Zovko, and produced by Nenad Puhovski (Factum).
Ten years ago, two Factum films played on the big screen of the Arena, at the Pula Film Festival. Children of Transition by Matija Vukšić and Naked Island by Tiha K. Gudac. Today, Factum received its first Grand Golden Arena: for Ivan Ramljak's film, for Peacemaker. In addition to the Grand Golden Arena, Factum can also boast of a new Golden Arena for Best Editing (Damir Čučić).
Peacemaker is a film about a man who gave his own life for a more peaceful tomorrow. For a better tomorrow. Peacemaker is a film about Josip Reihl Kir: what an epitaph for what a man!
Thanks to everyone who worked on the film, especially director and co-writer Ivan Ramljak, screenwriters Drago Hedl and Hrvoje Zovko, cinematographer Srđan Kovačević and editor Damir Čučić. Many thanks to producer Nenad Puhovski who assembled, led and looked after the great film crew of Peacemaker.
In addition to the wonderful awards, it is especially pleasing to see that Peacemaker is the best-rated film by both the audience and critics!
It should be noted that these are not Factum's first Golden Arenas. Last year, Our Children won the Golden Arena for Best Director (Silvestar Kolbas) and the Golden Arena for Best Editing (Denis Golenja).
The first Golden Arena for a Factum film was won by Darko Rundek in 2016 for the music in the film Generation '68.
