Čedo by Nikola Strašek is a film about a homeless person whose life has been marked not only with alcoholism and drug addiction, but also with the fact that he is a child from mixed marriage. The film's world premiere will be in Sarajevo. The 9-minute documentary L.E.F. is Trbuljak's search for the meaning of the phrase liberté, égalite, fraternité in the modern world. It premiered on this year's ZagrebDox, so the Sarajevo screening will be its international debut.

In addition to the above mentioned works, five more Croatian films have been accepted to the competition program. These are: Two Furnaces for Udarnik Josip Trojko by Goran Dević, Real Man's Film by Nebojša Slijepčević, Family Meals by Dana Budisavljević, Big Day by Đuro Gavran and Bulgarian-Croatian-German co-production Sofia's Last Ambulance by Ilian Metev. Sarajevo Film Festival is taking place from 8-14 July 2012.

The documentary program contains 22 intriguing, daring and provocative documentaries that address numerous questions. They inspire viewers and give them some food for thought, said the program selector Rada Šešić.

In her text accompanying the program announcement, Šešić elaborates on Croatian documentary scene: Indeed, Croatian documentary scene confirms that money is not everything. It has become very vital and exciting, almost like the Austrian one – not in terms of a large number of great films or perfectly polished productions, but in terms of its dynamics and freshness, as well as the enthusiasm of its authors and those involved in guiding, monitoring and production of these films – the people of high expertise and creative control. The post-graduate documentary film studies at the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Arts and excellent ZagrebDox festival show that, in the end of the day, meticulous work and years of committed guidance of new, dedicated talents give very positive results.

Documentary film Naked (Basil in the Stone) by Tiha Klara Gudac, produced by Factum, has been selected for the Docu Rough Cut Boutique, a workshop for the authors of five promising projects in rough-cut phase or rough cut phase.
