Factum’s DVDs Now Available at Superknjižara

The DVD Krsto Papić – Documentaries encompasses six works made between 1968 and 1971: Hallo Munich, When My Knife Strikes You, Čvor, Croatia, Let’s Hear Our Voice Too, The Special Trains and A Little Village Show.

The focus of Krsto Papić’s work was almost always the relationship between an individual and the social conditions shaping him, which led him to create one of the most committed oeuvres in Croatian cinema. Papić’s interest in documentary film is no surprise; it is characterised by its up-to-dateness, criticism, credibility of characters and lives he described.

Leaning on the cinéma vérité methods, Papić advocates for the so-called small underprivileged man, taking a particular interest in immigrant workers. His documentary practice, clearly defined in authentic people and phenomena of his environment, easily goes beyond the cultural and language barriers and becomes an undisputed value of European and world cinema.

Superknjižara since recently offers Factum’s new DVD edition DOCUMENTS OF TIME 01 – The Grožnjan Years. The DVD includes eight documentary films made by the participants of the Grožnjan Imaginary Academy.
