The Barge Keeper

The film follows the fate of a man who guards the barges anchored on the Drava River in Osijek Harbor, waiting to be written off as scrap iron.

The abandoned barges are his home and almost his whole world. His daily routine without visitors and modern devices reflects the diversity of human existence. The film's black-and-white photography underlines the simplicity, cruelty and beauty of such life.
